Between the left and the right, integrating moslims into western society,

On another blog a commentor said:

"When i said who is sarsur, i didnt give a moneky's arse who he is because he doesnt represent Islam, for your big brains, there is no one who can represent ISlam, unlike the pope in catholic christianity for example."

Which got me thinking the thought du-jour.

THAT (see above) is exactly the problem. Relating to this Danish thing, that is also the solution. Seriously, any group that would vote for Galloway is desperate for a voice in politics.

European immigrants have been thrown into a foreign culture and offerred no guidance. They are provided with socialist programs to meet their needs and there are many efforts to "respect their culture". But no one has taken the time to show them how to achieve prosperity and power as individuals within this new culture. They clamour to the mosque seeking answers because it is the thing they know. But western rules prevent mosques, churches, synagouges, and temples from possessing power. The net result is that they see western rules as dicriminatory against them.

It is not enough to simply state the rules. There are more moslim immigrants in Europe than in most mideast nations. The method of trial-and-error will not be a peaceful transition. There are far too many immigrants with far too many needs. Western nations must actively teach their immigrants how to play the western game. This spewing off about caliphates and clash of civilizations is pure BS. It is the topic that a small handful wish for us to discuss. There is something far larger and far more powerful that gives both westerner and moslim a reason to work together as brothers. It is a thing that that crosses all languages and all cultures. It is a desire more powerful than politics and - for most - more powerful than religion. It is family.

Specifcially, is there anyone who can deny that moslems have a deep love for their families and children? Our soldiers in Iraq often comment how deeply these people love their children. Have you not noticed?

We need to use this to bring our peoples together. We need to go into the neighborhood and speak to the parents directly. We need to teach them how to organize political parties and unions. We need to teach them about mortgages, contracts, bank loans, and business plans. We need to teach them how to become empowered. What they need is not hollow words, false promises, or hand-outs. What they need is to be taught. Taught how to make their voice heard and taught how to build a prosperous future. We need to go directly into the community and talk directly to the parents. They are the ones who want to build a better house and to guarantee the future of their children. Once they have become empowered according to western rules of empowerment then they will protect those rules. It is human nature to protect your sources of power.

What is in it for Europe? Hmmm ....
1) no more car-b-ques, better integration of immigrants
2) the ability to communicate directly with all layers of mideast society
3) powerful organizations with socioeconomic reasons to oppose radicalism
4) a virtual moslim nation that can excercise global influence and lead by example
5) fresh genes added into the pool of european stock

I'll post this here first before breaking this heart breaking news elsewhere.

I apologise to all Muslims for the recent Qur'an burnings in and around Vancouver, Canada. There have been a number of secret meetings in the city and environs during which people have burnt Qur'ans.

I find this deplorable, and I am sorry to write that it happened at all. I urge all concerned to stop burning Qur'ans. The planned Qur'an burning should not take place. Those in Burnaby, Surrey, and White Rock who burned Qur'ans have already received copies of this plea, and I hope those in North Vancouver and Haney will also receive them soon.

I understand that those who meet to burn Qur'ans in New West Minster are refusing to cease their activities. This is shameful. Please, do not continue this activity.

The Qur'an burnings planned for tomorrow evening in the above mentioned cities should not take place.

Those who are expressing a wilingness to join this activity in such places as Prince George and Penticton should consider the depths of feeling this will provoke in our Muslim communities, and simple prudence should encourage them to cease all such considerations immediately.

I ask that all concerned forward this notice to people who might be similarly concerned. I think it's high time that we inform our Muslim friends that even though there are dozens of Qur'an burnings going on in Vancouver weekly that it represents only a small minorty of extremists, not the vast majority of peaceful citizens here who know that Islam is a religion of peace.

Thank you, Dag.

99, there is no part of me that believes you are a moron, so I prefer that moniker.

That having been said, while Iraqis do adore their children, that cannot always be said about all Muslims. In Palestine, shops have photos of "this week's marter", mothers raise their children that they will be so proud if they blow themselves up and kill as many Jews as possible. Golda Meir was famous for remarking that Israel would always be in jeopardy until Palistineans learn to love their children more than they hate Jews.

You made a comment at ITM suggesting that Iranians would learn the meaning of MAD, and rebel. The people of Iran already want the Coalition to make them "next", but their leader, Ahmadinajad, subscribes to a version of Islam which requires earth to become a wasteland, or in your vernacular, "glass", before their savior will return and turn earth into a Muslim paradise. That is why he is so dangerous! He's hoping for MAD!

IMO, the effects of MAD are a generational change.

When the MAD children grow up and become of political age, they become a nation trained to live in the "now" and to seek instant gratification. Promises of a better tommorrow carry little weight with a MAD generation since it is burned into their psyche that tommorrow will never exist.

Are you part of the EuroMAD generation? If so then you probably remember the whole hippie movement thing.

I like being called a moron.
if I had to state the modern philosophy of moronetes it would be "we're just a moldy rock floating through outer space. I hope we get off before it hits something."
